Ingredients
4 cups oats -quick cooking
1 cup wheat germ
1 cup sunflower seeds or almonds
1/2 cup sesame seeds
1 cup walnuts, or 1/2 cup walnuts, 1/2 cup cashews
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
1/2 cup corn oil
1/2 cup liquid honey
1 teaspoon vanilla or other liquor
2 cups candied pineapple or other dried fruit.
Preparation
Put oven rack in middle position. Preheat your oven to 350oF. Line a large shallow pan with parchment paper.
Toss together the oats, wheat gem, seeds, nuts and salt in a large bowl.
Whisk together the oil and honey and vanilla. Then stir into the oat mixture until well coated.
Spread mixture in the baking pan and bake, stirring occasionally for 20 to 30 minutes.
Remove from oven and add dried fruit and mix everything together, then cool completely in pan on a rack.
