Ingredients

1 large onion - chopped

5 stalks celery - chopped

1# mushrooms - sliced

butter

1 stale loaf of challah

sage, dill, celery salt, salt, pepper , garlic salt

1 egg

1# cooked chestnuts

Tear challah into small pieces and set out until stale.

Preparation

Saute onions, celery and mushrooms in butter.

Sprinkle a little water onto stale bread and squeeze it out.

Add vegetables to bread and mix thoroughly.

Add seasonings (spices) and cooked and chopped chestnuts.

Stir again and taste for seasonings.

Add egg and mix through.

Stuff loosely in bird or bake separately in casserole w/ necks.

Roast stuffed bird immediately. DO NOT stuff night before!
