Ingredients

2 Orange Peals

1 Cup Water

2 Cups Sugar

2 Tablespoons Butter

1 Cup Milk

3 Cups Flour

2 Teaspoons Baking Powder

1/2 Teaspoon Salt

Preparation

Mince 2 orange peels very fine add to 1 cup water and simmer slowly for 15 minutes. Add 2 Cups Sugar and Simmer 30 Minutes. Add 2 Tablespoons Butter and set aside to cool.

In a separate bowl: 1 Cup Milk 1 Egg beat together and sift in: 3 Cups Flour 2 Teaspoons Baking Powder 1/2 Teaspoon Salt Mix well.

Add orange peel mixture and mix throughly.

Pour into greased bread pans (I prefer the mini-loaf style pans) Let stand 25 minutes Bake at 350 for 45 minutes or until it begins to pull away from the edges of the pan and a cake tester comes out clean.

Freezes well if sealed.
