Ingredients
1 cup sifted flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 tsp salt
2 cups sugar
1 cup + 4 tbsp shortening
4 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
1 cup unsweetend cocoa powder
1 cup nuts (optional)
Preparation
Pre heat oven to 350. Sift together flour, salt, baking powder. In a separate bowl, gradually add the sugar to the shortening, mixing until fluffy. Add eggs, vanilla, and mix until smooth. Add cocoa and flour mixture, mix well. Add nuts. Turn into a 13 x 9 inch baking pan that is coated with non-stick spray and bake for 30-35 minutes. Cool before cutting.
