Ingredients

10 cups water

1 orange pekoe teabags

1 1/2 inch-piece fresh ginger root, peeled and thinly sliced

1/4 cup sugar

3 cups chilled ginger ale

6 cups ice cubes

mint sprigs

Preparation

Bring water to boil in large saucepan. Remove from heat and add teabags and ginger root. Let steep for 10 minutes. Remove tea bags and ginger. Stir in sugar until dissolved. Cover and refrigerate until chilled.

To serve, pour tea into large pitcher. Slowly add ginger ale, add ice cubes, garnish with mint sprigs and serve immediately.
