Ingredients
1/2 gallon vanilla ice cream
1 cup chopped candied ginger
1 tablespoon fresh ginger root juice *
Preparation
Remove ice cream from carton, put into a large bowl and let soften. Do not allow the ice cream to melt.
Add the chopped candied ginger and ginger root juice. Mix well.
Return ice cream to carton and place in freezer. Allow one week for the ginger flavor to permeate the ice cream thoroughly.
- TO MAKE GINGER ROOT JUICE - Press fresh ginger root through a garlic press or grate in a food processor and drain/press through cheese cloth.
