Ingredients

3 medium size russet potatoes, peeled and cut into eights

5-6 garlic cloves, with the peel

Preparation

Combine the potatoes and the garlic and put into a 4 qt sauce pan with enough water to cover the potatoes. Bring to a boil and reduce heat to a simmer and until they can be easily pierced with a fork. Drain potatoes and return them to the same sauce pan. Using a potato masher, mash the potatoes and then add no fat half and half, until the mixture is smooth. Add salt and pepper to taste.
