Ingredients
1 T Olive Oil
2 Sweet Onions
4 whole garlic bulbs separated into cloves peeled and chopped
2 T brown sugar
1/4 t kosher salt
1/2 c Merlot or dry red wine
1 1/2 t balsamic vinegar
2 t minted fresh rosemary
pinch of freshly ground pepper
Preparation
- Heat oil in large saucepan over medium head add onions and garlic brown sugar and salt. Cook stilling occasionally - about 20 minutes till onions are golden and very tender
- Add Merlot and cook stirring occasionally 15 minutes or till almost all liquid evaporates. Remove from heat and stir in vinegar, rosemary and pepper - cool to room temp before using
