Ingredients
Gaggie’s Sugar Cookies
1/2 C. butter
1 C. sugar or Splenda
2 eggs
1 t. vanilla
1 t. almond extract (optional, but good)
3 1/2 C. flour
2 t. baking powder
Icing:
powdered sugar and a SCANT amount of milk to a spreadable consistency. Color with food colors and decorate any old way you like.
Preparation
Cream together butter and sugar, add in vanilla and eggs. If you want to color the dough, do it now. I prefer to leave them plain, and add color to the icing. Sift flour and baking powder together, then mix in with butter mixture to make dough. Roll 1/4" thick, cut, and place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 375 for 12 minutes, maybe less…. don’t overcook!
Icing: powdered sugar and a SCANT amount of milk to a spreadable consistency. Color with food colors and decorate any old way you like, with sprinkles, icing “painting” or even a marbleizing technique; pulling one color icing into the next with a toothpick. .
