Ingredients

6 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped

4 ounces milk chocolate chips

3/4 cups unsalted butter

1/3 cup cocoa powder

1 1/2 cups sugar

1/4 cup brown sugar (dark preferred)

2 tsp vanilla extract

4 large eggs + 1 egg yolk

1 tsp salt

3/4 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup semi, milk, white, or dark chocolate chips

Optional: 3/4 cup hazelnuts, chopped

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F

  1. Melt the bittersweet and milk chocolate with butter in double boiler until the mixture is smooth. Let chocolate/butter mix cool.
  2. Stir in sugar, vanilla, and eggs.
  3. Add salt and flour, stir until combined.
  4. Add chocolate chips
  5. Pour into a well-buttered 13 by 9 inch pan and bake for 25-30 minutes

Makes 24 bars

Optional: Add hazelnuts (3/4 cup) to mixture and spread nutella over top when cooled.
