Ingredients
3 cups brown sugar
3 cups butter or margarine (not in a tub)
6 cups oatmeal
3 cups flour
1 tbs. baking soda
***1 cup coconut added in place of 1 cup flour, if desired
Preparation
Put all ingredients in a huge bowl and mash and knead until all ingredients are all well mixed. Form into small balls and place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Butter the bottom of a glass; dip into sugar and press the balls flat. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
