Ingredients

1 3/4 cups granulated sugar

1/2 cup butter

3 eggs, beaten

3 cups flour

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1 teaspoon allspice

1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 lbs. chopped dates

1/2 lb chopped candied cherries

1/2 lb. chopped candied pineapple

1 lb. chopped pecans

1 Tablespoon pure vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon soda

1/4 cup warm water

Preparation

Cream the sugar and butter. Add the eggs.Mix sifted dry ingredients. Sift 3/4 cup of dry ingredients over fruit & nuts to coat. Mix vanilla, fruit and remaining dry ingredients in with the creamed mixture. Add soda dissolved in warm water. Drop by teaspoonsful onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes.
