Ingredients

1 pint frozen (or fresh?) berries, thawed

1/4 c. honey or raw sugar

1/2 t. vanilla extract

1 large bunch fresh mint

1 c. bourbon

Ice

Seltzer, club soda, or Pellegrino

Preparation

Place berries in a sieve over a bowl. Press against mesh of sieve to drain juice into the bowl. Set the solids aside. Add honey or sugar to the berry juice and stir well to make syrup. Pour 1/4 cup of bourbon into each of 4 glasses. Add muddled mint. Divide berry syrup between the glasses, add ice, and then top with seltzer. Stir a little and serve. Great for the first warm afternoons of spring…
