Ingredients

Beat 1 egg. Add 1/3 cup milk. Mix in:

1 cup flour

1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

3 tablespoons sugar

1/4 teaspoon salt

Stir in 1 cup diced fruit (apple, banana, pear.)

Preparation

Drop by teaspoonsful in hot shortening and fry until golden brown. Drain on absorbent paper. Makes about 20-25 fritters.
