Ingredients
1 solid block of tofu, firm or extra firm
1 egg
Panko bread crumbs
Salt
Preparation
Cut tofu block into attractive bite size pieces. (think of peices half the size of a traditional fishstick)
Set up two dishes, one with the egg (beaten) and one with the bread crumbs.
Coat each piece of tofu first with the egg and then with the bread crumbs and set aside until all pieces are coated.
Fry the coated tofu in oil ensuring that there is enough room around the peices. You may need to do this in batches.
After the tofu has reached a golden brown remove and season lightly with salt.
Enjoy with your favorite dipping sauces (sweet and sour, soy, hoison, thai chili)
