Ingredients

1-10 oz French baguette (2-4 days old)

8 large eggs

3 cups milk

4 tsp sugar

3/4 tsp salt

1 Tbsp vanilla

2 Tbsp butter (cut into small pieces)

Cinnnamon and nutmeg

Preparation

Grease 9x12" pan with butter. Cut bread into 1" thick slices and arrange on bottom of pan. In a bowl beat eggs with remaining ingredients except butter. Pour over bread. Cover with foil and refrigerate 4-36 hours. Dot with 2 Tbsp butter and bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Let stand 5 minutes.
