Ingredients

3# lean stew beef

8 oz. bacon cut in 1" pieces

1 cup flour

6 oz. sliced mushrooms

2# can diced tomatoes

3/4 cups beef consume

Preparation

In a large bowl, combine the marinade ingredients and beef. Cover in refrigerator and marinate for at least 12 hours. Take beef from marinade and pat dry. Strain vegetables and reserve broth. Discard bay leaf. Brown bacon pieces. Put flour into bowl and coat beef. In dutch oven, arrange 1/3 of bacon on bottom. Then vegetables mushrooms, tomatoes, beef, bacon, veggies and beef. Put remaining bacon on top. Pour stock and marinade over all. Bring casserole to a boil on top of the stove and then bake at 350 degrees for 3 - 3 1/2 hours. Stir towards the end.
